Washington: Socialite Nicole Richie did an eighty two-minute jail term at Lynwood prison in California on August 23.
The soon-to-be-mum, who was found guilty of DUI, checked into the facility at quarter-past three in the afternoon to serve four days in prison.
However, due to lack of space and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, officials said that Richie would only serve a part of the time.
“At this time, the criteria for a female arrestee sentenced to 30 days or less for a non-violent offence is as follows: The arrestee is booked, screened and usually released within 12 hours,” E! Online quoted Sergeant John Hocking, as saying in a statement.
